The Administrator of the Year award honors a medical practice administrator who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and management proficiency, and who has helped enhance the effectiveness of healthcare delivery in North Carolina. Sponsored by Curi, the Administrator of the Year Award also provides the recipient with a stipend for continuing education at a state or national Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) meeting.
Michael Icenhour has served as the chief operating officer of MEMA for the past 22 years. Michael has led MEMA’s 62 physicians and 32 NP/PA practice through tremendous growth and consistently ranks the highest of all MEMA staff on performance evaluations.
“I have been president of MEMA for the past 6 years, an Emergency Department Medical Director for 17 years, a physician in Charlotte for 26 years and have seen first-hand the enormous impact Michael makes on our organization,” says MEMA President & CEO Tim Lietz, MD. “He has been vital to our success as an independent healthcare organization, and we are indebted to his service.”
Over 170 people attended the Annual Conference in Myrtle Beach, May 19-21. This year’s conference featured nationally recognized speakers, general and breakout sessions led by industry veterans and an exhibit hall showcasing the latest healthcare management products and services.
